Avocado Addiction Chocolate Mousse

I think I officially have an avocado addiction! Any season, any time, any where, any meal!

And lately this little beauty has just transferred over into sweet snack (meal, second lunch) category after a friend introduced me to this easy mousse.  I normally am a little cautious of using avocadoes in desserts (after a failed avocado cheese cake which had ‘grated’ avo’s due to being so desperate to make the cake).

Any way, easy peasy – lemon squeezey optional.

Thus:

2 Avocados

1/4 cup (1/4-1/3 cup) Dates soaked in water (date paste)

1/3 cup  (1/3 -1/2 cup depending on how dark/rich tasting you would like it) Cocoa powder (or powdered cocoa nib)

1 TBS Agave Nectar or Honey

Optional – some Grated Orange rind

Blend, wizz, mash combine it altogether

Yum! Best part is the chocolate flavour, added bonus is the sugar free, dairy free, egg free and wheat free! (and avocadoes are very low in fructose!)

And to make you feel even more supercilious about your devine snack (lunch), just remember some of these avocado benefits while you dine:

  • Being high in beta-sitolesterol – which lowers Cholesterol
  • Containing high levels of folate which lowers your risk of heart disease and stroke
  • Large volumes of Vitamin E – fantastic for nice bouncy skin (and preventing a magnitude of diseases)
  • Monosaturated fats (good fats) help regulate sugar levels! – in the long run this snack prevents sugar cravings!
Enjoy!
