Supplementing Spleen Qi + Enriching Liver Blood

Avoid:

  •  Bitter/spicy foods
  • Black tea
  • Chai tea
  • Hot chocolate
  • Excessive use of ginger, garlic, pepper, curry, cinnamon

Include:

  •  Sweet-neutral, sweet-warm, sour-neutral
  • Grains – oats, amaranth, yiyi ren barley, rice
  • Vegetables – seasonal, beetroots, red cabbage, carrots, fennel, spinach
  • Meats – chicken, liver, beef, beef stock, veal, lamb,
  • Fruits – red grapes, sweet cherries, longans (lychee), plums, apricots
  • Seeds – sesame, sunflower seeds
  • Drink – beetroot juice, cherry juice, plum juice, red coloured teas (hibiscus tea, rosehip), some red wine
  • Basically – red, dark green, or “blood-looking-like” foods.
