What is a normal period?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a healthy menstrual cycle is seen as a reflection of the body's overall balance—particularly the smooth flow of Qi and Blood, and the strength of the Kidney, Liver, and Spleen systems.

A textbook normal period in TCM:

  • Lasts four to six days

  • Occurs roughly every 28 to 30 days

  • Arrives without intense cramping, clotting, breast tenderness, mood swings, or fatigue

  • Has a moderate flow—not too heavy, not too light

  • Features fresh red blood, smooth in consistency with little to no clots

Chinese medicine doesn’t just treat the period—it reads it like a monthly report card.
By understanding your cycle, we can assess your internal balance and guide you back into harmony using:

  • Acupuncture

  • Herbal medicine

  • Dietary therapy

  • Lifestyle advice
